Description
This 6th arrondissement street exists since 1547, when it was named rue du Joindre. It changed to rue Madame in 1790 but was renamed rue des Citoyennes from 1793 to 1800 when it finally took its current name.
It was named after the wife of the Comte de Provence (who then became King Louis XVIII).
